Priorities and criteria for FLW schools

FLW selects language schools using the following criteria:

1. The school staff must love teaching languages and be professionals in the industry.

FLW is a community of language schools, teachers and educators who love teaching languages. Teaching foreign languages is our passion.

2. Benevolent attitude towards students

Students are our everything! We work for the students to provide the highest standards of language tuition. Friendly, careful attitude towards students is a must for us. No racial, sexual and national discrimination is possible in a FWL school. We take care about problems of our students, in the areas of tuition, accommodation and in everyday life. Fast reaction to student's requests is our rule.

3. Qualified and skilled teaching staff
There shouldn't be casual people in our work. Only skilled professionals, experienced teachers, people who love teaching can work in a FLW school.

4. Class and office equipment

School facilities must meet FLW standards. The school office and classrooms must have everything needed for efficient tuition. Here's a non-completed list of facilities a FLW school must have: comfortable desks and chairs, white board, text books and additional studying materials, copying machine available both for teachers and students, stereo equipment for students, free tea and coffee, lounge place where students can have a rest before and after classes, a cafeteria should be within a short distance from the class, free wi-fi Internet available for students.

5. Student's accommodation

The typical types of accommodation provided by FLW schools are hotels, individual or shared apartments, student residence and home stay. All this should be described in details and discussed with the student before and while choosing an accommodation for him. The accommodation prices should be equal or less than average commercial accommodation fees in the area.

6. School location
A FLW school must be located in a safe and comfortable area either in the downtown or in a residential area. It doesn't work if a school is located in an industrial area unless there's a special good reason for it described in the school's profile. The school should be within walking distance from a public transport stop otherwise transportation to and from the school should be provided for the students.

7. Tuition fees
The school tuition fees should be reasonable and within the industry standards in the area. Everything above should have a serious reason and be described in the school profile.

8. FLW commission
This is what FLW charges the student while booking a course. This is a part of the tuition fee and that's what your school is willing to pay to FLW as a commission. The normal commission is between 15% and 35%.

9. Quality and amount of advertizing materials provided by school to be published on http://foreignlanguageworld.com

Every educational institution while applying to become a FWL school should provide some textual and pictorial materials describing the school itself and its home town. This is important for us as we post these materials on our website in order to advertize our mutual educational and travelling programs. Please note that such materials mustn't be copied and pasted from the Internet. It should be written by the school staff or taken from unpublished sources.

10. Fast communication. Good English.

We appreciate prompt email replies, constant availability of the school staff by phone and/or skype or other phone and video communication systems. FLW communication language is English. Speaking proper English is the way we can understand each other and be in touch.

Please note that the above criteria having a smaller number in the list have a higher priority.
